El triunfo del Arco

Set in the heart of region of la Araucanía in the south of Chile, an arch de triumph made of only oat hay bale. Made from the exact location the arch stands, it delivers a fragile homage to the fertile agricultural the land has. As a normal cycle of any harvest, this monument plans to not stay longer, it grows and falls as any oat harvest would do. It remembers or commemorates no victory of mankind, its actually the opposite, remembers the fragile grounds winners and losers stand in the course of history, remembering that the only real stable element we have is the course of nature.

Being set up as a natural intervention in the chilean landscape, the monument is then transported to the heart of the chilean capital, Santiago, where in the main hall of the Museo de Bellas Artes, welcomes visitors to the exhibition Movimientos de Tierra, where with other 5 artists, reflects on the course of nature and its relation to mankind on these polluted fragile times.
