Torre de Control
As a mediation experiment and public intervention for the exhibition ANDER: Resistencia Cultural en El Trolley and Matucana 19 this broadcast station came to life. Made of an inhabitable cube intersected with a large scale antenna, Torre de Control searched to reactivate the lost energy that the abandoned neighbour spaces of Matucana 19 and El Trolley had given to the city of Santiago through its counter culture scene in the mid 80s under the ruling dictatorship of the time.
This broadcast station worked as a live space that emitted conversations, sound and audiovisual experiments, dramatized readings, poems, archive analysis and live performances through a running program of three months that made space to an almost forgotten crucial scene of the 80s and also to a contemporary counter culture scene that, as it happened 40 years ago, is not being heard by the official cultural spaces of our time.
The whole material that Torre de Control emitted was documented and saved to an online platform to serve as a public archive for coming generations. More information on www.anderexpo.cl/torre-de-control
